Major car accidents My Experiences

Every year approximately 100,000 people die due to car accidents, no matter they are driving or sitting on passenger seat. What causes the car accidents, is it some technical fault in the vehicle or drivers carelessness? I have nearly 16 years of driving experience even before I got my driving license. I had 2 major accidents which were less my fault and more car’s fitness issues, with the gearbox and brakes. Here I would like to share with you both my experiences and like to share why the happen since I have seen death so from so close once when they occur.

My first major accident was in Daihatsu Charade 4 door 1000cc diesel engine, I was heading on the link highway from Hyderabad to Tando Adam, Single road two way traffic, means you have to stay alert and being with 3 more passengers car is heavy and not able to give a throttle quickly. In May 2000, I was driving in an average of 80-90 because the road condition was pretty bumpy and it was hot weather, I was along my father , uncle and cousin. on this road there are several water channels on which road goes up and down, where you cannot see what’s on the other side, it was 4 o clock the sun was out and visibility was clear.while I was crossing channel  I went up after crossing I was able to see ahead clearly, but there was a bump in the road on my side so I changed on right side, since we have right hand vehicles in Pakistan I crossed the bump and car float a bit in the air. as a driver I was able to control it, but suddenly my father who was on passenger seat next to driver seat turned my wheel to right side and kept holding it on until than I pulled brakes and emergency brakes car skid and went hit the tree which on the right side of the road, vehicle did not stopped there but went along with road side tree into water channel which was 18 feet down by the road. fortunately it was dry there was no water in this It directly fell by front in the muddy soil and stopped there. I was the only one who was wearing seat belt, so I saw entire thing did not closed my eyes and I had no injuries, where as minor injuries happened to uncle and cousin who was on the back seat. Car was taken out with Tractor chained and bought to the down near to it, ( Tando Jam ) where first images I took of the vehicle and entire from chassis was bended due to impact of  falling and hitting the tree. safe recovery but no parts were available there so we had to fix vehicle without brake system and normal welding in 18 hours. only on emergency brakes I drove the vehicle back to Karachi crossing super highway.that was my first experience major accident because after this Charade never came in proper share.

Fixing After Accident

My 2nd experience happened in Karachi on Korangi road, at around 330 am, June, 2007  there was a problem with gearbox it was not able shift in top gear ( 4th ) been driving in 3rd. when I crossed bridge and tried to shift the gear it came in 4th. and I increased my speed from 80 to 120kmph. roads were almost empty, this time I was with my  brother on the back seat and cousin on passenger seat next to driver, what he was doing checking sms and keeping cell phone on the dashboard which was irritating but since Daewoo racer changed gear I was trying to control it, but the sms flash was very disturbing. on the road there was water tanker ahead of me, They usually have no lights at back, spilling water and moving at the speed 80 kmph, I reached behind with in no time behind it but suddenly pulled brakes and changed the middle lane to right side lane, since there were no brake rights behind it I used hand brake ( emergency brakes ) since my brakes were not good enough to stop daewoo racer on 120kmph my car turned toward left and skidding as truck moved from front I saw Suzuki Van standing in the middle land and with in fraction of second Daweoo hit the Suzuki Van splashing my side mirror cracking wind screen throwing suzuki van 10 to 15 meters away, by now my car lost motion but still moving this time straight to foot path so I immidiately turned the wheel and used emergency brakes. It hit the foot path from left side braking left whee and went on along with foot path till it stopped. I was taken out of the driver’s seat and brother suffered minor internal injuries but cousin had fracture in his head. Car was total loss. even than I fixed it back which took me almost 8 months.

In my driving experience I was have never seen any person leaving vehicle in the middle lane, without proper indication ( hazard lights on ) and I have never seen water Tanker having rear brake lights or any light at all, to me it was more fault of tanker and the suzuki van driver, even for this I was accused and had trials in court until lady judge asked me how it happened. my charges were over speeding road accident but tanker people were never called in the court and suzuki van people only wanted claim not admitting their mistake of parking a vehicle at 330 am which was short of fuel. anyways it continued and ended after 6 months in court.

Before Accident

The times you shouldn’t drive on highway if you been driving or up since early ( the dawn time ) it’s very risky and dangerous.

always check tyre pressure and brakes before you drive. carelessness cause accident.

as my father says “ when your driving think every every single driver is blind and only you have eyes” it helped me a lot.

keeping an exact judgement of the road and speed you be sure than you know to stop the vehicle less than 7 seconds to jam.

Car is never friendly, so never trust the instruments or brakes 100 percent.

speeding is thrilling but killer as well.

It’s better to be late than never, 90 percent carelessness and over confidence cause these accidents. Follow the road safety and drive in limits, avoid wrong over takes and if you lack from patience please avoid to drive, because it can harm you badly, In my both experience I was saved head till toe because I knew how to control vehicle when it turns into wild horse. but mostly over speeding cause the fatal accidents.

I shared with you my personal accidents experience and I mentioned as they happened, I hope it would a lesson from a driver to driver, because situations could be worst than I mentioned.

Drive Safe.

I have 14 years of Daewoo Racer Experience, I understand pits and pieces of the vehicle, I ranked this vehicle as 2nd fastest car on the streets, The response is good and brakes after alternation are best. for Drag racing, I used this and my 1# Ranked Toyota corolla 86 1.5 litre is the fastest car with rapid response, here in Pakistan yet no other car has gone faster and responded active as they both did after alternation.

Now Lets get started about  Mini, because I have my own and I been hearing lots of complaints about it from people around. I have almost the same as like the image below, 5 Speed Manual, 16 Valve, 4 cylinder engine 660cc.

Pajero Mini 1996 Model

The Image on the right is also Non Turbo Mini, but 4 x 4, My Experience, It’s a best City Vehicle all thou I have taken on the long run 150 KM to 300 KM straight, Performance been quite well, Mitsubishi keeping it’s class, the suspension is no doubt solid like normal Pajero 3 door. handling is good, speed 125 KM so far I’ve gone on this where as average speed is 80-90 Km which is perfect for city, I am using Manual Gear, So I don’t need to change once I am in double top, even on CNG. It recovers well. Brakes are good as well as emergency Brake ( Hand Brake ) , Entirely the K-Car Pajero Mini hasn’t disappointed me at all, infact I have tried 4 x 4 in flood condition, while it was in water, and It took itself out without any trouble. People those who prefer to have Pajero Mini 660cc, are looking for easy drive and basically for 2 front seats back seat has the space but for normal people.

Interior ( Automatic ) 2000 Model

Engine and Performance is entirely depended on the Oil usually people use 20W 50W but instead in winter 5w 40w high grade oil, to keep engine smooth and keep it maintenance free, This vehicle is easy to drive, very easy to park, fun ride. no issue if off road, just keep Oil , Water , Belts , Brake Oil , Tyre Pressure 30 psi, Power steering Oil checked, rest enjoy the ride. I even had Automatic experience which is good and economical, well let me tell you about average on petrol and CNG

Per Litre      :   City 11Km With Ac,  Long Run  15 Km with Ac without 17 KM.

Per Kg          :  City 14/15KM With Ac,  Long Run  17/18Km with Ac without 19.5Km

Pajero Mini 2000 Model

baby. beside that, it doesn’t ask for too much maintenance only good oil and keep all checked.  If you are in Pakistan, this is way better because It has space, It’s comfortable and it’s a Jeep not a car. So drive is different, doesn’t matter if road is bumpy or broken, or you are driving Off Road, it suits on both.

Recondition / resell value depends on the model condition if everything is in good condition you will get it from 94/97 model  400,000 to 500,000 if model is 2000/2007 550,000 and so  on.

Bhit Shah ( Shrine of the Sufi Saint )

Life hasn’t changed much because myself, I went there after years but still everything was same. Bhit Shah is nearly 40KM from Hyderabad, 35-40 minutes drive, NHA or National Highway. As I move ahead from Hyderabad City on the highway, I was feeling calm and relaxed, one of the good reason was, this time National Highway is Good. So it’s easy drive. Bhit Shah is a town nearly by Hala approximately 5KM away, So mostly everything is available, even GPS works well, all mobile phone network companies have provided service in this region good enough to use internet easily. Gas Stations and Roadside restaurants are there but in our own Sindh cultural way, unlike the one you been expecting. The journey is not tiring at all, by the time you reach there it feels like you are in different world, where belief and faith rule this town.

When you enter in Bhit Shah, this is what you will see people walking on the road, cars and motor bikes parked on left and right, restaurants, sweets shops, Jewelry ( Sindhi Cultural ) and tons of beggars will cover you, most of which children and women are not even Muslim, indeed I was bit knocked out when I asked one of the little girl about her religion, are you Muslim? she replied by waving her head NO. she said we are not Muslims. We are Hindus. I haven’t gone in depth about this matter but baggers are mostly Hindus. I parked my vehicle close to stairs and moved ahead. This time I was not with my family but one of my closest friend, Since she has never experienced anything as such before. We both moved inside, had to remove our shoes on the entrance and get along to pay a visit at Shah abdul Latif Bhittai’s Shrine in Bhit Shah.

Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, A well known Islamic Sufi Poet, what’s interesting about him from ages and people I heard that when Shah Latif was a childhood and started going to school nearly around 450 years back, in the city of Hala, Teacher taught him, In sindh “ ALIF” Allah , “ Bay “ Balla . Like in English A for Apple and B for Banana. In Sindhi method is same but character’s stands for different meaning. “ ALIF “ for Allah  (GOD) and “ Bey “ for Balla means ( Dragon, snake or some  Predator ) He refused to pronounce “ Bey “ and said to his teacher, “ ALIF “ is enough for me. that was he first and final day he ever went to school and learn’t “ ALIF  ALLAH “. He grown up in Hala which is 5KM away from Bhit Shah, He moved himself along to this place and sat next to the river under the tree,

As a poet he wrote something still being understood by many and in a way he wrote about Allah that no other human has ever done with such respect in his Shah Jo Resalo. He also wrote about True Love stories of the east, in which Susi and Pohno ( Bhambore ). Omer marvi ( Omer Kot and Malir ). Noori jam tamachi, and few more which I am not able to recall at this time. Shah Jo Resalo mean’s  King’s Magzine. it is not just what he wrote but what is more shocking and unbelievable that he wrote entire Holy Quran with his own hands. without know how to write, without any mistake.  Entire Scripture hand written is placed there in the safe cabin where all the visitors get a chance to see and take images of it, beside all. Such thing knowing understanding believing and truly devoting himself in the love of Al mighty Allah, blessed him with such gift that even after generations still none other has done something which he did. To me it’s a sign that how strong the love of  Allah is with those who devote themselves in his love. This is really an example of it. He also invented Instrument known as Tamboro. 4 strings attached some what mixture of  Sitar and Guitar Chord less. At Bhit Shan ( Shrine ) Fakir’s they play it daily till Fajir Azan the sound of it, is not like any other musical instrument but when they tell the stories from Resalo and sing the poetry’s.

Even if you do not understand, the scripture but listening to it carefully, for a some time, it will move your soul and after certain time, tears will fall from your eyes, Personally I have experienced being myself Sindhi, I was not able to understand difficult words but than again I remember my eyes were teary when I spent the night over there and I was feeling very calm relaxed and patient from inside. It was like I was completely disengaged with outer world and I am somewhere else the place which only offers peace and the love of Allah.

The tomb of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. I offered fatiah “ May Allah Place his soul in heaven, Ameen “ It’s truly amazing experience once if you visit there. I am Proud to be Sindhi and Pakistani that Allah has blessed me with verities and specially Culture which Sindh has since 5000 BC, Ancient Indus Civilization is also Part of Sindh and Pakistan and Personally I have learn’t from these saint’s a lot about the divine love of Allah. Islam’s message is clearly stated in Holy Quran for those who are willing to know apart from what so ever their belief is. I would advise them to read and to know, rather than being one track minded. There is something which makes a logical difference in God and Allah.

Difference in 2012 ( Election or War ) Pakistan

The way economy is going and the relation with United States, what it seems to me that Pakistan’s General Elections may take place in 2012, instead of 2013. Because currently the party in power ( Pakistan People’s Party ) has failed big time and Pakistan’s economy is suffering which is impacting 80 percent nation, still short falls of electricity and Gas are being done as same when this government came into power. Fuel prices are hitting the highest again where as there hasn’t been increase of them in International Market. This Government has tried all the formula’s and tactics still suffering hasn’t end. The corruption is making new records almost every month. Yet President’s Memo and NRO is waiting for president’s written explanation. NRO is being Void by supreme court  of Pakistan. Those who are educated and understand that media is not doing what it should and government has totally failed, believes that there are more chances of Election in 2012 instead of 2013.

My personal View is 2012 first quarter of it, will be hard on this nation, but before June things will get clear and don’t expect sudden changes but yes there will be changes in favor of Pakistan, Infact in between United States will try its best to Attack Iran but Pakistan will play big role along with China and Russia this time and this would be the boost this nation been looking for. Pakistan Army is ready since NATO targeted Pakistani Solider killing all 14 of them. This time Pak Army is not waiting for sorry but yesterday Iran target and shot the US drone striker which was flying next to it’s border. clearly sending message that we will not accept interruption from United States or any other country. Drone Attacks in Pakistan as well are stopped after several years. now Iran and Pakistan jointly with China and Russia backed planning to fight back if necessary. These changes will show the Brighter Pakistan but not under this Government. Nation is ready and prepared for any conflict because we had enough of non sense by United States and wrong policies. Not again….

Blind Dolphins

When I heard for the first time about the blind dolphins, I did not believed until I did not saw them. They are found in Indus River which is in my province Sindh, Pakistan, Historians have different believes and all thou hunting them is totally ban but still  they get victim. that’s not shocking as much as what I am about to tell you, ancient believes that a human ( male ) can marry blind dolphin and even  rape them now this is shocking.

To stop this no organization in Pakistan is doing anything, I guess WWF is unable to do anything to stop it so ” Blind Dolphins ” are blinded by everyone’s eyes. I serious didn’t get the relation with Fish and the human. specially when it comes to marrying them and in other cases raping them! keep wondering how, that’s where I say A human is a compilation of all animals.

It is my request to the non profit organization to take action against Blind Dolphins In Indus River Sindh, Pakistan, before we just read about them in history. The worst of the mankind can be seen by abusing such innocent creature, I wonder who the hell was that in ancient time who believed that by mating with them, you will live longer and stronger, is there any scientific prove of it. I guess not.
