Suzuki Mehran EFi


I knew almost year back that suzuki gonna revolt the technology by just adding the EFi to its vehicles, it came as no surprise to me.

Now Suzuki damn old Mehran got EFi instead of carborator =\ yes.. price went high and mechanics helpless, advantage now computerized diagnosed possible, disadvantage street mechanic cant help you out.

Overall this change made a slight difference in milage when its on fuel ” Patrol ” by 14 to 17 km per litre highway 18 confirmed . But since mostly are on CNG it makes no difference since EFi made it more difficult. The problem with heating up is still there which you have to get it fixed manually.

Both vehicles are now EFi Mehran and Alto but test drive was no different unless you have no idea about EFi . Welcome to EFi age lolx finally meanwhile world is moving off and turning Hybrid.

Mehran required 5 speed manual transmission like hell but company made no changes still the issue of high RPM is there specially when your driving 100 kmph you need 5th shift… sorry manufacturing issue, however Alto has 5th but radiator geatibg issue mess up, obviously what do you expect engine made for jeep boeing equipped in little ducky.

People overview on EFi needs more eye than previous one, in this cultus went step ahead from 3 pistons  to 4 hmm makes it more relaxed but what about Poor Mehran ? Nothing

6 speed corolla ! Amazing


Recently i had an experiences driving this babe. Yes 6 speed manual transmission Corolla ALTIS, i suspected first before the ride thid babe got not enough but i was wrong.

Well RPM game with gear ratio differs 6th one is mainly for cruise control when your highway or on the long run but surely its relaxing and my experience with suzuki swift  which i will publish the car of year as i rate it. But back to Altis logic of 6 speed is based on economical shifts.

Overall increasing tyre size and VVTi technology really been impressive specially 6 speed transmission, now when you drive Automatic transmission things are different but on the manual you have thr control to drive peacefully or go NUT !

Babe gives you good average consume fuel efficiently, emissions reduced by 20% which is positive sign that corolla is progressing, but later they reduced CC’s down by 200 , now the theory behind 1800 to 1600 is simple making compact and compressed .

I had amazing experience, share yours too ! Now we are talking!

Why Daewoo Racer 93 .


Daewoo Racer 93 , was introduced in Pakistan in  Taxi Scheme back in 1993 as a Yellow Cab , I remember when the first time as 12 years old I went to see this car I didn’t much charm in it, but one thing was different than others, Reverse Gear was UP instead of Down, It was Next to 1st Gear. Anyways in 1998 I bought my first Daewoo Ofcourse It was Taxi, on that time most of the bank defaulted Taxi’s were Standing on the port for least 4 years in 1998 They were Reconditioned to sell as Private Car and Given to Government Officers too. In 1998, Price of a Brand New Daewoo Racer was Just 265,000/- Rupees. But I took a short way and I got Taxi which was already on the Road and got it Paint two tone Black and Silver. That was my first 1500cc Experience before this I had driven Suzuki FX , Mehran , Datsum 120-Y 79 Model, but never had a change to know this beast.

As I started driving this car, I was not familiar with the feature and functions but driving around in a city Black and Silver tone, with Taxi number simply Who’s cares, people used to say Daewoo TAXI. like its cheat crap car, but first time when I took it on the Seaview Straight Long No Bumbs , at night time to Test this Baby, I remember It Thrilled my Soul, The torque, acceleration handling was amazing. I fell in love with Daewoo at first drive ! Than I started to know more about it and it gave me Free option to Test my Skills While Phase 8 was Under Construction Area and Petrol wasn’t expensive, I was burning the years, right over there I learn’t how to drift and It drifts so smooth but I cannot explain in words. The Rear suspension is totally Amazing shocks not attached with Wheels but rear wheel had nothing from top, It’s like Dirt Track Bike suspension, same Daewoo Racer has. right below the back Seat Left and Right in between fuel Tank. Honestly it’s one car which is more comfortable by being on the back seat and one reason I never Liked Toyota Collora, Seats are worse, gives you pain, but daewoo makes you sleep no matter how fast and how rough the road is, you won’t feel the bump on the back seat.

In year 2003, I got my other Daewoo  Know as Black Bird ( D2 ) which was Private Number I Customized the Car, by replacing front and rear lights with Crystal lights, RIM,( 4 Sparking plugs by BMW , Front Shocks KYB , Side Mirror Led Indicators , Auto Lock , Central Locking , Dual Coils and waterbody and Wheels 175/R13 Interior changes where unique from any other Daewoo in Pakistan, I guess I was lucky to have Special Edition Dash Board Wooden work and Entire Wooden Color. My Test runs used to be on the Super Highway Karachi – Hyderabad Distance Toll to Toll 130 KM   My Best Time being in my Senses not Insane On Daewoo is 1 hour 1 Minute. The Reason I prepared this Car was not just for fun but for the Drag Racing That’s where Competition used to happen between Daewoo , Honda Oriel , Toyota GLi , Maza 323 Sedan Class B cars and I had few advantages being a Daewoo Driver.

Since The Daewoo is SOHC ( Single Over Head Cam ) Engine , 1500 cc , 4 Speed Manual Transmission , 4 Cylinder , EFi  Front Disc rear Drum Brakes, It produces 125 Horse Power with 180 Kmph Top Speed, I guess Company made a mistake by giving a meter which had only 180 Max, but 1st Gear Ratio of Daewoo is 25% plus as compared to Honda or Toyota, Why because It has only 4 Gears while Rivals got 5th Double Top. Many people think having 5 Gear is an advantage than I must remind to search internet The Faster Car In 1976 was not Ford or Benz but Mazda and the only advantage it had to be the faster was 3 Speed Transmission, It was Rocket on The Road. Before This I had my Daewoo for Drag Racing and later in between years I had Charade GTTi . But after returning in the Daewoo’s Cabin I was confident enough to compete with Rival Vehicles, the way I remember those weekend nights I call it ” The Days Of Thunder” Betting on Racing winning and loosing, Time Trial, P8 2 AP n Back means ( Phase 8 to Airport turning from departure lane returning back to where started. Distance It was 34 KM overall and my Best time been 20 Minutes.

Race days got over by 2004 but even than on the road I never given a bit of relaxation to myself for staying behind because if I loose ( I’ll Court Martial myself ) Conviction Results NO DRIVING FOR A MONTH. that was tough one for being the judge and the convicted one.  In 2007 I bought 3rd daewoo because I had worst Major accident In Daewoo but was totally unharmed My Car was totally smashed, well I wasn’t drunk nor lost my senses but thanks for parking a car in the middle lane and going by foot to get the fuel on the main road. These are couple of images after the accident.


 

Well I lost the car and for next 6 months I didn’t drive, that was first and the only period in my life I didn’t Drive not because It was my mistake or not but I lost my car. after 8 months in 2008 I got Daewoo Racer again and this time I wanted for the Long Run, so I modified for Long Routes unlike previous one, yet I did changed and customized because I have good command and knowledge about Vehicles, Many times on Highway I have broken the Niddle, for a driver its an award you can say to go very till the edge, I had Daewoo Friends Gathering , Racing , Experimenting , Practicing , had fun with them from all around Pakistan, Mostly were senior in driving experience and age but I was smartest one so they had to very careful.

In doing all this one of the Technic which became as Pioneer one was DD Digital Driving !

Well Driver on the Driving Seat would Control Pedals and Wheel he won’t change the Gears , The Driver on the Po-Pilot ( i call ) seat will change the Gear as needed but in this entire process of driving a Manual car Like Automatic , 2nd Driver has to sync Mind timing with 1st Driver to be sure enough when exactly Clutch is pressed and shift, This DD Mode it difficult and Dangerous too, unless you have someone who understand Driving well enough to measure RPM by Engine Noise and When Exactly Driver needs to Change in between no talks. In This Mode so far I had experience with 1 person but it’s makes you Go in a blink since Ratios aren’t set by Gearbox but RPM and as you need and 2nd Driver knows when where which Gear, so your concentration is on the Road while Manual Stick Job is being Job by 2nd Driver.

My D-III , 3rd Daewoo was this, I had Black Rim with Neon Blue Lines totally rough and tough, customized had DVD Theater inside with Sub Woofers ( Dual ) in the trunk, while This Car been hell amazing with me, that when ever I had a chance to drive Toyota corolla or Honda I felt please I want Marlboro Hard not Dunhill Lights. People didn’t appreciated this car all thou Fuel average was way better than it’s specification and weight, I had CNG into and 55 KG On a highway 140 KM No Issue, Best CNG full tank Daewoo Record is 171 KM . I couldn’t believe but it’ s all driver Technic Trust me. to drive in Eco mode, not accelerating the RPM keeping under 50%. Not to shift Gears, but control and manage in 4th Top Gear. If 5th than same rule on it, no matter how slow cars gets it will recover with-in 10 – 15 seconds, both I have experienced Economical Drive and Racing ! I lost this Car, Got Stolen FIR Register but It’s Pakistan, some say Who would Steel Daewoo, My Answer to them, The Things which were in it and the way Engine suspension was customized why wouldn’t anyone. its been more than 14 months and I miss My Daewoo. Only a Miracle or Prayers can get me back in Daewoo’s Cabin.

Daewooo Racer is undoubtedly, My Signature Car ! Now Many Beasts are on road and People don’t drive as they used too, Those who born and raised in the TOP GUN Era None of Them was Ever slow specially Teen and 20s . But I’ll carry my Dream To Set The Top Speed Record In Pakistan where as there are so many things which I cannot share confidential :)  .

 

Daewoo Racer is known as  Opel Kaddet in Europe both has same specification and Engine the only difference is back 85 Opel Kaddet came 2 Doors and Daewoo Racer 4 doors . Still In Euro People Love Opel Kaddet and Here Daewoo Racer Because the Chemistry is Same, It’s just as the perfect driver wants.  Soft Core Cars are hell to maintain but Hard core one requires efforts but It wouldn’t get to loose that’s for sure and personal experience It wouldn’t even let you die,  Fasten your Seat Belts, When your On Driving Seat make it a habbit to Check all before you make a move on the journey far or close. I was really amazing recalling those times, Damn Good Times and sharing with you all, because I am sure there are millions of Speed Freaks like me those who don’t like to play game on the LCD screen, but keeping their life on the line. ” I salute to those who dare ” to know what’s beyond Fear ! Count me In I found it and I know the way too, Driving Speeding is Obsession, Craze , Addiction ! Give this up in your entire life. You control your Brain while racing or driving like hands and feet don’t even know what to do …

Corolla 86I personally bought my own Toyota Corolla 86 reconditioned in 1998 it was 1.6 GLi SE Limited Edition but it was not EFi instead it was carburetor, 5 speed manual transmission front wheel drive, I called this babe ” The Dragon Fly ” it is one of the fastest car I’ve ever driven on, DOHC engine with 16 Valve, 4 cylinders, I seriously had no idea before, but when I took it on the highway, I still remember the performance and how intact it was simply ” flying in the blue dreams ” here in Pakistan specially on that time we did not had many options of sports cars, this was not sports model but it ripped off  many custom modified cars easily on the drag racing, after minor changes I did like Oil, Plugs, Tyres and tunning. The first car on which I learn’t how to drift without using handbrake, just because it had the power to keep the wheel spinning i practiced  my ass off to get the logic lowering the acceleration and just touching the brake  back again giving throttle. This is the 2nd car on which I have touched 200 kmph right after this the rival of corolla 86 is Civic 95 Dolphin Model   ” Bullet on the road “.

The Body shape is not completely dynamic but it is best for keep you stick on the road, the suspension and the brake horsepower is outclass. normally people drift the vehicle with handbrake or emergency brakes but tell you honestly it’s a little tricky but there is no need to use the emergency brakes. The overhead camshaft ( Twin Cam ) was introduced by Toyota in this vehicle in 1983, Only the Special Edition and Limited Edition I prefer in this model later Toyota Splinter came on the scene with a little sporty shape and the most insane 1300 cc engine I ever got to know.

affording the fuel cost specially nowadays is hell but still those of you who are insanely in love with driving and cars, I would recommend you to drive this one only if you find the TC 86 in original form. The Cabin seats are comfortable and the steering wheel is something I fell in love, completely power power,  There’s also version known as DX also in market which is 1300 cc, but it is no where closer to GLi, later Toyota came up with Corolla 95 here in Pakistan Indus Model but being very honest 86 rocked my world, even today I see it somewhere, i get the same feelings and it brings smile on my face because I say ” Nothing Compares to you ” .  All thou had 220 kmph on Civic 95 but the sensation and the thrill which corolla 86 had is unbeatable.

I know every driver has their one favorite rides some may not agree with me but this Dragon Fly changed my view about Toyota, It was one of the Most wanted getto vehicle in 90′s.
