  1. hey man ..i have heard people selling their noir a2 (1ghz) because they cant download more than 4 apps?? can you confirm if this is correct??

  2. i tried this method ,now i can move everything to sd card …

    Instructions

Download the Android SDK from here.
Unzip the contents of this folder somewhere convenient.
Turn on usb debugging on your phone
Settings > applications > Development > Tick USB Debugging
Now plug in your phone to your PC.
Your PC may install the required drivers itself.
If your PC shows you the New Hardware Wizard window, then follow the instructions below:
    Download the drivers here:
    Unzip the drivers somewhere convenient.
    For XP:
Select Install from a list or specific location and click Next
Select Search for the best driver in these locations
    Un-check Search removable media
Check Include this location in the search
Click Browse… and locate the folder where you unzipped the drivers zip file
    Click Next to install.
    For Vista/Win7:
Select Locate and install driver software
    Select Don’t search online
Select I don’t have the disk. Show me other options
Select Browse my computer for driver software
Click Browse… and locate the folder where you unzipped the drivers zip file
    Click Next
    Click Install to install
Open the folder where you unzipped the android sdk to (the first file you downloaded) and go inside tools folder.
Copy the address of this folder.
Open a new command prompt window:
Press the Windows key + r
    Type cmd
    Click OK
In this command window type cd
Now paste in the address of the tools folder you copied in step 7 together with a preceding space
It should look something like cd C:android-sdk-windowstools
    Press enter.
Now type adb shell and press enter.
There should now be a $ or a # sign.
    Type pm setInstallLocation 2
Unplug your phone and restart it.
From now on every app you install will be installed to the sd card by default!!
    But… [READ ME]

There was actually a reason behind google not installing all apps to the sdcard by default. That reason is because some apps will not work properly if they are installed on the sd card. You need to be aware of this because if you don’t know, then those apps will start to break and malfunction. Apps that fall into this category are those that require a background service running all times, and ALL widgets.

So, twitter, instant messages, any app with a widget and also launcher replacements hyave to be manually moved back to the internal memory, or they will break. So, just the same way as you used to move apps to the sd card, simply do the opposite and move the apps similar to what I have described back to the internal memory.

Any issues please leave a comment, good luck!

    • why are you sending me your email address ? I sent you mind so you can send me info which you posted or anything you want me to post here on the blog

  3. Here’s the same method with easy language.

First you have to enable USB debugging on your Android device from Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging. Now you need to download and install the Android SDK on your computer from http://developer.android.com/sdk/.

Once you’ve downloaded and extracted the package to the folder of your choice, run SDK Setup.exe and click on Available Packages to the left. If you get an error message at this point, enable “Force https://…” in the Settings. From the list of available packages, select “Usb Driver package”, click on the Install Selected button in the bottom right corner and follow the prompts.

Connect your phone to your computer with a USB-cable. Your OS will prompt you to install new drivers. Choose to install them from the android-sdk/usb_driver folder. Do not mount your device; you only need to plug-in the cable.

Next, run a command prompt and navigate to the Android-SDK\tools folder. In Windows, this is done by selecting Run from the Start Menu (or by pressing Win+R) and typing cmd. You change drives in the command prompt by entering the drive letter followed by a colon (, and change folders with the CD command. For example, to enter the Android-SDK folder, simply type cd android-sdk.

In the Android-SDK\tools folder, type in adb devices and you should get a serial number starting with “H” in return. All you have to do next is entering adb shell pm setInstallLocation Voilà, you’re done! Android will now installapps to the SD card by default.

To switch back to storing software on the internal memory, enter adb shell pm setInstallLocation 0.

I should point out that it’s preferable to install certain apps to the main memory, since it will take a while before the SD card becomes available when you start your phone. Applications installed on the memory card will also be unavailable to the system each time you mount your phone as a disk drive. The internal storage is probably quicker as well, even though Google claims that “there is no effect on the application performance so long as the external storage is mounted on the device.” In general, apps that integrate with the Android OS and that often run in the background is better to install on the internal storage, while games and most other applications will have no problem chilling outside on your SD.

Update: Homescreen widgets should be installed to the internal storage as well. I noticed that LauncherPro, for example, won’t recognize widgets stored on the SD card when you start your phone, because when the app is launched, the memory card is still unavailable.

  4. Hi.
I read our FAQ page and it seems quite helpful….
My Problem is that i’m using keepsafe App in my Qmobile Noir A2…Everything is going perfect but the thing is that this device, I don’t know why, does not support “.” prefix and is not hiding folders that are in External memory (i.e: SD card)…. as i’m using this app to privatize my photos, the file manager on this device is still showing the “.keepsafe” folder in the file browser which is bad…. and also all other system folders (even with “.” prefix) are being showed….. is there any way i can hide these folders from directly being viewed from the device’s file manager? (ps: i dont want to install any external file manager wanna do it in default)
    Thank you!
    .

But The Thing That The Phone Lacks Is The Matter Of Fact That The Internal Memory Of The Phone Which Is Very Low. Even Compared To The Galaxy Ace Which Has The Internal Memory Of 290 MB, The A2 Only Have 235 MB Of Space. The Space Of The Phone Is Actually Mainly Taken By The System Apps The Phone Have By Default. After Installing Some Apps While We Actually Get About 90 MB To Download And Install On The Internal Memory And Some Apps Do Not Install On The Memory Card For Eg. Google Services , Fring Etc.
