The Supreme Court has ordered the Sindh government to take immediate action against all armed groups in Karachi, including the Taliban. In an interim order issued Saturday, the Supreme Court’s bench hearing the Karachi law and order case directed the provincial government to arrest all prisoners released on parole andpresent them before it.
The SC has also instructed the Home Ministry and Inspector General Sindh to arrest the prisoners released on payrole and to present them in the court. The Court also ordered issuing non-bailable warrants of the criminals released on parole and asked the law enforcement to deal with criminals and Talibanwith iron hands.
Earlier, IG Sindh had presented a report on 7,000 Taliban infiltrating Karachi after the court had ordered for it. The bench, in its order, stated that the police and other law enforcement agencies had failed in providingsecurity to the citizens.
According to a report published in a local daily on Saturday, the banned extremist outfit Tehrik-i-TalibanPakistan (TTP) are known to be gaining in strength in the metropolis, recruiting family members of target killing victims to boost their numbers.
The order also stated that action against unregistered vehicles should be initiated and instructed to issue the relevant documents and number plates at the time of registration of vehicles. There hasn’t been a single day since months now on which none reported, on 13th October two bodies of men were found in gunny bags near Customs House in the early hours of Saturday. The victims were neighbours and identidied as 42 years old Nabi Bus and 45 years old Asif Baloch, They were desidents of Layari’s Shah Baig Lane, Karachi.
Police reported that bodies were severe torture marks and both of them were shot in the head from a very close range, It’s a new trend started in Karachi torturing and shooting in the head and throwing the bodies at times places people or police finds after days. Recently Commissioner Karachi Police was replaced reason not known but what it appears as these replacements hasn’t shown any progress to stop Karachi Killing. I personally call this Karachi Genocide, which has claimed thousands of lives up till now where as there hasn’t been group or mafia arrested so far, most the arrested accused criminals get the bail from the court and at times bribe the police and continue with Genocide.
At times it feels like, In Karachi killing anyone is the easiest task one can do, since there’s daily death toll police cannot keep up with all the cases registered, where it all started from was Land Mafia that’s what Rehman Malik Interior Minister mentioned but, it is to be considered that Karachi’s stake holders are the responsible of these killings, in the past clashes between MQM ( Mutahida Quami Movement ) and ANP ( Awami National Party ) where PPP ( Pakistan People’s Party ) workers were involved, after several meetings and discussions some sort of MoU was signed in between but that didn’t changed the ground reality where daily 2 to 15 people are tortured and shot dead, Law and Order situation in Karachi is just like an Earth Quake, you never know if you stuck in the traffic and something happens all you can do is pray to God that you make it till your home. Al thou majority of the citizens of Karachi are in favor of Peace despite the facts of Target Killing A Peace Walk was held by the Citizens of Karachi and on that same day 14 people were killed in various parts of the city. This city has faced worst and yet people has no other choice, like it or not.
The Government of Pakistan must take initiatives to stop this Genocide, because by these Target killing it is not just the people of Pakistan affected but Business , Stock Market , Banking and entire Pakistan gets effected as well. It’s a very tough task to handle 20 million population huge metropolitan city but one or the other way it is governments responsibility to provide safety and security, to bring Peace in the city, indeed seems like a sweet dream, since in reality it’s horrifying and unimaginable.
